Meta-Physics — Ancient Indian Mystic Sciences
Ancient Indian history is mysterious and very different from the rest of the world. These mystic sciences are grounded in practical demonstrations, logical reasoning, and observable outcomes accessible to every common man.
Meta-Physics explores what lies beyond the physically observable world — the subtle, super-physical, and metaphysical dimensions of existence. India's ancient Rishis developed practical sciences — Ayurveda, Astrology, Yoga, Vaasthu Shastra — that operate across all three planes of reality, making the invisible visible and the intangible measurable.
Three Planes of Existence
The physiology of the human being can be projected across three planes — from gross matter to pure consciousness:
Physical Plane
The gross physical body — the material, tangible dimension governed by the five elements. This is the domain of conventional science, medicine, and direct sensory experience.
Super-Physical Plane
The subtle energy body — beyond the physical but still measurable. Sciences of this plane: Ayurveda · Yoga · Vaasthu Shastra · PIP Aura imaging
Meta-Physical Plane
The causal body — the realm of pure consciousness, karma, and seed-forms. Sciences of this plane: Vedanta · Mantra · Tantra · Yantra · Spiritual knowledge
Matter → Form → Consciousness
Indian metaphysics describes reality as a continuous spectrum from dense matter to pure consciousness:
| Stage | Domain | Sciences | Expression |
|---|---|---|---|
| Matter | Physical / Sthula | Physics, Chemistry, Biology | Five elements; tangible form |
| Form | Super-physical / Sukshma | Ayurveda, Yoga, Vaasthu | Prana, bio-field, subtle body |
| Consciousness | Meta-physical / Karana | Vedanta, Mantra, Tantra | Atman, Brahman, pure awareness |
Ayurveda — Science of Life
Ayurveda is not merely a medical system — it is a complete philosophy of life operating at the super-physical level:
- Tri-Dosha — Vata (Air/Ether), Pitta (Fire/Water), Kapha (Earth/Water) — the three bio-energetic forces governing all functions
- Sapta Dhatu — seven body tissues: Rasa (plasma), Rakta (blood), Mamsa (muscle), Meda (fat), Asthi (bone), Majja (marrow), Shukra (reproductive tissue)
- Tri-Guna — Sattva (purity), Rajas (activity), Tamas (inertia) — the three qualities of mind and nature
- Panchakarma — five-fold detoxification and rejuvenation therapies that clear the subtle energy channels (nadis)
- All herbs, foods, lifestyle practices are mapped to their Dosha effect — creating a meta-physical pharmacopoeia
Jyotisha — Vedic Astrology
Jyotisha (Vedic Astrology) is the science of light — literally the science of how celestial bodies' light and gravity affect human life cycles. It works on the meta-physical principle that planetary positions at birth encode karmic tendencies carried from past lives:
- Twelve Rashis — the zodiac signs correspond to body parts, elements, and personality archetypes
- Nine Grahas — the planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu) govern life phases
- Twenty-Seven Nakshatras — lunar mansions linked to plants, gemstones, mantras, and remedial measures
- Dasha-Bhukti system — planetary period cycles that predict life events and karmic unfolding
Yoga — Science of Union
Yoga bridges the physical, super-physical, and meta-physical planes through eight limbs (Ashtanga Yoga):
- Yama & Niyama — ethical restraints and observances (Physical → Meta-physical foundation)
- Asana — physical postures that prepare the body for higher practices
- Pranayama — breath control that manipulates prana in the subtle body
- Pratyahara — withdrawal of senses; the bridge from physical to super-physical
- Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi — concentration, meditation, and absorption — purely meta-physical states
Vaasthu Shastra — Architecture of Consciousness
Vaasthu Shastra is the ancient Indian science of space, direction, and energy flow. It operates on the meta-physical understanding that:
- The eight cardinal directions carry specific energetic qualities (governed by eight Dikpalas)
- The centre of any space (Brahmasthan) must remain open for cosmic energy to flow
- Earth's magnetic field, solar radiation, and gravitational pull affect health and prosperity differently in each direction
- Temple architecture (Agama Shastra) uses Vaasthu to create living instruments of consciousness
- Sacred geometry (Mandalas, Yantras) encode Vaasthu principles in two dimensions
